BOXER REFINEMENT, DIESEL ECONOMY
As integral to what makes a Subaru a Subaru as AWD, the Boxer engine takes its name from the punch-counterpunch motion of the horizontal pistons within a lightweight, aluminium-alloy engine block.

This unique, rotational cycle means the engine sits lower down than a conventional engine aiding natural balance for exceptional smoothness coupled with low vibration and noise. Additionally, the unit provides a lower centre of gravity and in turn, exquisite handling and poise plus greatly reduced roll when cornering.
Meanwhile, Subaru’s Boxer Diesel engine is a world first and unique to Subaru being the world’s first horizontally-opposed diesel engine for a passenger car. Closely echoing the same benefits of its petrol based relative, Subaru have created a powerful yet quiet diesel engine worthy of being deemed a ‘performance diesel’ given the excellent accelerator response, fuel efficiency plus reduced friction and inertia.

Throughout history, great engineering achievements have stemmed from life's most basic principles – and Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel drive system is no exception.
It’s no accident that both the Subaru Legacy and XV proudly hold the EURO NCAP 5 star accreditation because all safety features on a Subaru conspire to have one common goal; to greatly reduce the likelihood of an accident.
Closely allied to Subaru's permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is Vehicle Dynamic Control using sensors to cleverly monitor the course being taken and correct any deviations in stability.
Never ones to follow convention, the dim and distant origins of Subaru (as a maufacturer of aircrafts) follow a headstrong path of resisting the conventional; preferring instead to follow a ‘calling’ and do things differently.
For built-in peace of mind, every vehicle marketed by Subaru (UK) Ltd is covered by a 3 Year/60,000 mile (whichever is sooner) Warranty (excluding clutch driven plate).
