All-new Subaru Forester e-BOXER awarded Euro NCAP’s Best in Class 2019
All-new Subaru Forester e-BOXER awarded Euro NCAP’s Best in Class 2019

The all-new Subaru Forester e-BOXER – the first self-charging hybrid from Subaru – has been named Euro NCAP’s Best in Class 2019 in the Small Off-Road / MPV class.

This award is given to the best performing model in its class in the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) 2019 safety performance test. It marks the second time that Subaru has received this prestigious safety recognition; XV and Impreza were named Best in Class 2017 in the Small Family Car category.

All-new Forester achieved the best score in the Small Off-Road / MPV class with outstanding scores in all four assessment areas (Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road Users, Safety Assist) and the highest score ever in its class for Child Occupant Protection, as well as also achieving the best-ever score for Subaru in Adult Occupant Protection. The new model achieved the maximum five-star overall rating.

Chris Graham, Managing Director of Subaru UK, said: "At Subaru, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We’re delighted that all-new Forester has been recognised as Best in Class 2019 in the Small Off-Road / MPV class – because we’re committed to keeping our owners – and their families – safe at all times".

A host of new technologies ensure that all-new Forester is safer than ever.

Forester is now built on Subaru Global Platform (SGP) which has increased body strength by 40%; this platform is designed to deliver higher levels of safety performance, as well as added driving enjoyment and ride comfort.

A range of passive and active safety technologies are fitted as standard, including: EyeSight Driver Assist Technology (providing Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control and other functions); Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD); Reverse Automatic Braking; Side View Monitor; and Driver Monitoring System, a brand-new facial recognition technology that alerts the driver to re-focus when it detects signs of fatigue or distraction while on the road.
